Astronomy and Astrophysics Vlba Observations of Ghz-peaked-spectrum Radio Sources at 15 Ghz
We present VLBA observations at 15 GHz of ten GHz Peaked Spectrum (GPS) radio sources. The cores are often difficult or impossible to locate. When likely cores are found, they account for a small fraction of the flux density in GPS galaxies around or below 2%, while in GPS quasars they can account for more than 20% of the total flux density. We detect low polarization in the GPS sources – i.e.,...
متن کامل5G radio access above 6 GHz
Designing and developing a millimetre-wave (mmWave) based mobile Radio Access Technology (RAT) in the 6-100 GHz frequency range is a fundamental component in the standardization of the new 5G radio interface, recently kicked off by 3GPP. Such component, herein called the new mmWave RAT, will not only enable extreme mobile broadband (eMBB) services, but also support UHD/3D streaming, offer immer...
متن کاملThe Spectrum and Variability of Circular Polarization in Sagittarius A* from 1.4 to 15 GHz
We report here multi-epoch, multi-frequency observations of the circular polarization in Sagittarius A*, the compact radio source in the Galactic Center. Data taken from the VLA archive indicate that the fractional circular polarization at 4.8 GHz was −0.31% with an rms scatter of 0.13% from 1981 to 1998, in spite of a factor of 2 change in the total intensity. The sign remained negative over t...
متن کاملTerrestrial Television Broadcasting in Bands above 2 Ghz
Experimental amplitude-modulation terrestrial television broadcasting systems in Band 10 at 12 GHz have been set up in the Federal Republic of Germany [CCIR, 1974-78a], in the Netherlands [CCIR, 1974-78b], and in Switzerland [CCIR, 1974-78c] for system G, and in Japan for system M [CCIR, 1974-78d and e]. Further, an operational station for the same broadcasting system has been working in Japan ...
متن کاملParameterizing above or below guaranteed values
We consider new parameterizations of NP-optimization problems that have nontrivial lower and/or upper bounds on their optimum solution size. The natural parameter, we argue, is the quantity above the lower bound or below the upper bound. We show that for every problem in MAX SNP, the optimum value is bounded below by an unbounded function of the input-size, and that the above-guarantee paramete...
